    LTE Cell search

    Hi,
My question is about LTE Primary Synchronization signal (PSS) transmission. I know that it is transmitted six resource blocks (RB) around the DC subcarrier in frequency domain and twice per radio frame. My question is if tune these frequencies in different time slot, do I get only noise or data+noise ? Please elaborate.

The PSS is transmitted in subframes 0 and 5. If you tune to those locations in some other slot/subframe, depending on whether there is transmission from that cell, you will receive either noise only or data+noise. Typically in a fuly loaded cell, I would expect to see noise+data in those locations
